Athens Airport Lavrio port
Lavrio Port Authority describes the port as being very close to Athens International Airport (ATH). For public transport, the airport's own page gives this connection with Lavrio port:
- Regional bus (KTEL) to Markopoulo, with a change at Markopoulo to the Lavrio bus line. The airport puts the Markopoulo stop on the Arrivals Level, between Exits 2 and 3, in the outer lane opposite the Sofitel hotel.
- The airport warns that these buses are sparse and run only during the day.
- The same page, in its regional-bus section, also says the Rafina and Markopoulo lines start at Arrivals outside Exit 5, in the outer lane opposite Short Term 2 parking. Follow the signs on the day, or ask the airport (24 hours): +30 210 3530000.
What KTEL Attikis says
In its passenger FAQ, KTEL Attikis gives these approximate journey times: Airport–Lavrio about 1 hour, Markopoulo–Lavrio 30 minutes, and Athens–Lavrio 1 h 30 to about 2 hours. In Athens, its Lavrio line (via Markopoulo, Porto Rafti and the airport) starts at Nomismatokopeio, right above the metro station of the same name on Line 3 (blue). Cards are accepted only at ticket booths with a card terminal; on the bus you pay in cash.
Bus times and fares are not listed here. Check KTEL Attikis or ask at the airport on the day.
By car or taxi
Near Lavrio's passenger terminal the port authority lists an automated car park, a car-rental area and the ticket offices. A pre-booked transfer straight to the quay is another option, especially for an early sailing.
