The two ports

Lavrio

Run by the Lavrio Port Authority (Ο.Λ.Λ. Α.Ε.), set up in 2001. It says the port's position gives the shortest route between Attica and the Cyclades. Ships of five ferry companies link Lavrio with Kea, Kythnos, Agios Efstratios, Psara, Lemnos, Andros, Tinos, Syros and Kavala.

Ferries use the quays in the port's north-east sector, with nine stern-mooring ramps and two finger piers. Next to the passenger terminal are an automated car park, car rental, ticket offices and passenger services; cafés and restaurants operate in the port's land zone.

Step-free access at Lavrio

According to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs: the ferry passengers' waiting shelter and the ticket offices have ramps, the ticket offices have an accessible toilet, and the passenger terminal has ramps throughout, accessible toilets, accessible parking and a lift to the second floor. The ministry also states that no meeting point has been set for passengers with disabilities to announce their arrival and that no assistance service is available at the port, so arrange help with your ferry company in advance.

Korissia (Kea)

Ferries from Lavrio arrive at Korissia, where the Kea ferry agency and the coast guard's Kea office are based. Hellenic Seaways points out the old Enamel Factory (1927–1957) at the port, with its 45-metre chimney, one of Greece's most important protected industrial monuments.
